Our Story

Born on the Docks. Shared by the Coast.

The Captains’ Report was built by working charter captains who live the saltwater life every day — not just in Murrells Inlet, but alongside the men and women up and down the coast who share this same tide-driven lifestyle. We were raised on marinas, in wheelhouses, and on back decks where stories were passed down between generations. Fathers taught sons. Old captains mentored young deckhands. Lessons were earned in rough seas and early mornings. This podcast exists to honor that entire coastal brotherhood — the ones who make their living by the weather, the seasons, and the pull of the ocean.

Home-Based in Murrells Inlet. Moving Wherever the Water Takes Us.

The Murrells Inlet MarshWalk is our home base — the heart of our fishing community and where thousands pass by our docks every day — but our story doesn’t stay in one place. Our mobile studio travels the Grand Strand and beyond to tournaments, coastal festivals, marinas, and special events, capturing the voices of captains and communities who share this way of life. From dock talk to weigh-ins, we bring the wheelhouse to the people — documenting the culture while it’s still alive and thriving.

Why We Keep Telling the Stories

Supporting The Captains’ Report means standing with the captains who built this coast — and those who will carry it forward. It means helping preserve the stories, traditions, and hard-earned knowledge that define our fishing heritage.

Those who choose to support this journey aren’t just backing a podcast — they become part of the story itself. Along the way, we proudly recognize and showcase the businesses and people who believe in preserving this coastal way of life. From the docks to the tournaments to the events we travel to, we shine a light on those walking beside us in this adventure. Because at the end of the day, this has always been about community — captains, families, and local supporters working together to keep the spirit of the coast alive.
